Chesias - Back Drop Necklace with Freshwater Nugget Pearls

This backdrop necklace features small nugget pearls, one in the front and four in the back. Black and white pearls available, as are options of 14K gold-filled or 925 sterling silver for the chain. It is dainty, elegant and sure to impress - especially if worn on your wedding day ;)

As pearls are not mined like most other gemstones and rather collected from oysters in water, Atelier Ayana products featuring freshwater pearls are named after “naiads,” Ancient Greek freshwater nymphs that presided over springs, lakes and rivers. Chesias was the fairest of all the nymphs, described as young and noble.

Handmade with love in Burlington, ON. All gemstones were cleansed in a selenite bowl prior to the making of my jewelry.

CARE:

Freshwater pearls need moisture from your skin and contact with air to preserve their color and nacre. So do not store them in airtight containers. If necessary, gently wipe them with a damp cloth and make sure to completely dry after. Do not store with other items that might scratch them. Do follow the “last on, first off” rule and minimize exposure to perfumes, lotions and sprays.

Gold-filled jewelry is made with 14K gold coating up to 100 times thicker than traditional gold-plating. Not only it is a less costly alternative to solid gold, but it is actually more durable. It is hypo-allergenic, water-resistant and will look shiny and new even with decades of wear. Clean your gold-filled jewelry with mild soap and water, then pat dry.

Sterling silver naturally oxidizes when exposed to humidity, perspiration, cosmetics and other chemicals. It is best to put your sterling silver jewelry on last and take it off first. Best stored in an airtight container and polished occasionally with the polishing cloth provided to remove the oxidization.
