“For my Eyes Only” Pendant

Every February, I dream of jewels to help us remember to love ourselves. This one’s no different.

This year I dreamt of a customizable pendant for our own eyes only. Other people will see it, but not all of it. They will see the centre stone and the rippling of the tags moving underneath, but they won’t be able to see what the letters say.

Because that little secret is for your eyes only. It will be a great conversation starter, if you want it to be, otherwise it will be a reminder to yourself of how amazing and wonderful you are every time you look at it. 

You get to decide what it says. An affirmation, a loved one's name... something to put a little magic into your mundane. Something to make you feel amazing every time you wear it. 

This one says “Queen.” It’s made with sterling silver and a 3mm emerald. Next one will say “Fierce” and I’ll make it with a 3mm lab diamond. What would you want yours to say? What gem would you want to wear with it?

Care: 

Clean your pendant with soapy water and dry with a soft cloth. Refrain from using chemicals, abrasives or heat. Do not clean colored gems and pearls in ultrasonic cleaners. Do not store them with other items that may scratch. Always put your jewelry on last when getting ready, after putting on lotions and perfumes and take off first when getting undressed. 

Sterling silver naturally oxidizes when exposed to humidity, perspiration, cosmetics and other chemicals. It is best to put your sterling silver jewelry on last and take it off first. Best stored in an airtight container and polished occasionally with the polishing cloth provided to remove the oxidization.

Gold-filled jewelry contains 5% solid gold by metal weight. This outer layer is not plated but bonded to an inner copper or jeweler's brass base that is neither visible or exposed to the skin. Therefore the outer layer of solid gold is up to 100 times thicker than traditional gold-plating and gold filled jewellery considered hypo-allergenic. Not only is it a less costly alternative to solid gold, but it is just as durable. Since it looks and acts like solid gold, it is water-resistant. (Though I wouldn't recommend submerging it in water or going swimming with it on.) When properly taken care of, it will look shiny and new even with decades of wear. Clean your gold-filled jewelry with mild soap and water, then pat dry.
