How to measure your ring size accurately from home

Let me just put it out there:
The most accurate way for you to get your ring size is always in person and with a proper ring gauge/sizer. We're happy to say we now provide ring sizers in our shop! (Click here to purchase one)
Here’s a couple of tips to make sure that you order a ring that fits you the best:
-
Decide which finger of which hand you’d like to wear your ring on: Yes each finger has a different size, but that size may also be different on the corresponding fingers of your left and right hands as our bodies are not 100% symmetrical.
- Not only the fingers on your left and right hands may be different but your hands may also be more or less swollen depending on the temperature and what your recent activities were. Keep that in mind when for you want to measure your ring size and make sure to take your measurement at a time when your hands aren’t swollen or overworked.
- The thickest part of your finger isn’t the joint - it’s the knuckle. Keep in mind that the ring needs to be able to fit through your knuckles and not fall off of your finger either.
Having said these, if you don't already have a ring sizer at hand, there are two alternative ways you can measure your ring size:
1. By measuring an existing ring that you know fits you well. Just make sure that the ring is still “round,” as they may lose their shape with wear and tear in time. There are apps for these - and they’re really simple to use. Here’s a video I’d made to describe how it works:
2. By wrapping a piece of string, floss or paper around your finger (below the joint and close to your knuckle) and marking where they meet. Make sure that the string isn’t stretched or that the paper isn’t damaged. Repeat the measurement at least two more times to make sure you get the same result. The number you get will is the inside circumference of your new ring. Then, use the chart in this link to determine your ring size. Remember, here in Canada, we use the same size chart as the US, which roughly starts from 3 and goes up to 17. We're an inclusive brand so we'll make whichever size you need.
